Natural Stone Shower Care

Adding natural stone to your bathroom designs is a simple way to lend a luxurious and timeless touch to your home designs. Durable and versatile, natural stone works equally well on bath floors, walls and vanities.

Each day, Stone Doctor Australia receives heaps of enquiries on natural stone shower care. Having your surfaces clad in natural stone may seem complicated but with the usage of approved products, some understanding and a proper maintenance regime will keep natural stone surfaces pristine at all times.

The most important thing to remember is to always use a specially formulated pH neutral or an approved natural stone shower care product that will clean the grout, the silicone joints and surface. To keep your stone looking clean, set up a consistent cleaning & maintenance routine and take precautions to care for and protect these surfaces. This is a sure-fire way to ensure that your natural stone surfaces will not deteriorate with time.

We have to give particular attention to wet areas. Always ensure that the surfaces are water tight, mold free and kept dry after usage where possible. Ensure that all wet areas gets re-sealed every 18 - 24 months. Look our for signs of wear patters and respond quickly getting them professionally accessed and restored as required. 

Lastly and equally important is to use non acidic personal care products like shampoos, conditioners, body soaps, etc.. if you have acidity present in the wet areas, deterioration will start and soon after, you will notice discolouration, loss of colour, surface etching, roughening, etc.. pH test strips are ready available from us to test the pH of all liquid products as a precautionary means.
